Blow is a biopic movie of the American cocaine smuggler: "George Jung", directed by Ted Demme. David McKenna and Nick Cassavetes adapted Bruce Porter's 1993 book Blow: How a Small Town Boy Made $100 Million with the Medellín Cocaine Cartel and Lost It All for the screenplay. It is about the true life stories of Pablo Escobar, Carlos Lehder Rivas (portrayed in the film as Diego Delgado), George Jung,, and the Medellín Cartel. The movie's title is a slang term for the narcotic; cocaine.
The movie starts showing a young George (Jesse James), his parents Fred (Ray Liotta) and Ermine (Rachel Griffiths) of Massachusetts in Weymouth. When George was ten years old, Fred filed for bankruptcy and lost everything, but he tried to make George realize that money is not important.
