Casino

Casino is a crime drama movie by Martin Scorsese. It is inspired by the book "Casino", by Nicholas Pileggi, who as well cowrote the screenplay for the movie. De Niro stars as Sam "Ace" Rothstein, a Jewish & American gambler who is named by the Italian Mob to oversee the day to day operations at the fictional Tangiers casino in Vegas. His person is based on Frank Rosenthal, who ran the Stardust, Fremont and the Hacienda casinos in Vegas for the Chicago Outfit from year 1970s until the beginnings of 1980s.

Joe Pesci acts as Nicky Santoro, based on the real life Mob enforcer Anthony Spilotro. Nicky is one day sent to Las Vegas to make sure the money from the Tangiers is skimmed off the top and that the mobsters in Vegas are kept in line. Sharon Stone plays Ginger, Ace's wife, a role that gave her a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress
