During the winter of 1987, Minneapolis car salesman named Jerry Lundegaard , is in desperate need for cash. Jerry is introduced to different criminals like Carl Showalter and Gaear Grimsrud by the American Indian ex convict: Shep Proudfoot who is a mechanic at the dealership where Jerry works.
