Mask
Mask is an 1985 drama movie starring Cher, Sam Elliott, and Eric Stoltz. The story is about the life and death of Roy L. "Rocky" Dennis, a boy who had a rare disease known as craniodiaphyseal dysplasia, also known as lionitis, due to a disfiguring cranial enlargement that the illness causes. The school he is at tries to send Dennis to a special school for "mental retards" but his mother fights against the school system, all so that her son can have a normal life, as best as possible. She wins over the school and Dennis is able to go to a standard school. His grades were top and best of all of his other fellow students but he was picked at for his looks. His mother used to say that she believed he was a lion in his past life and that is why he had that type of form. He had friends and after a while he became the boyfriend of a girl, against all odds. His greatest dream is to take a road trip far away from where he lives and during nights he often dreams of how it would be and if it is at all possible to do. A good family movie!
