Not Without My Daughter
Not Without My Daughter is a film released in 1991 telling the escape of American citizen Betty Mahmoody and her daughter from her husband in Iran. Her husband says that a trip to Iran, to his homeland, would be a great thing to do and after some discussions Betty agrees to the vacation. Their daughter comes too, but before Betty decides to stay there her husband forces the family to stay in Iran, for ever. Upset and frustrated she tries to take her daughter back to USA but finds out that she does not have permission as the laws in Iran are different. She is forced to stay in Iran. Together with her husbands family they live in their house whilest Betty tries to find ways to get her daughter out of Iran. This becomes tricky and her behaviour becomes, offcourse, as a mother, more and more negative towards her husband and the other family members.. One day..
