The Pursuit of Happyness

The "Pursuit of Happyness" is a biographical family movie based on Chris Gardner's nearly one year with poverty and homelessness. Directed by Gabriele Muccino, the movies stars Will Smith as Gardner, a homeless salesman. Smith's son, Jaden Smith, co stars, making his movie debut as Gardners son, Christopher Jr.

In 1981 in San Francisco, Chris Gardner invests all of his lifes savings in some sort of portable bone density scanners which he advertises to doctors and pitches as a usable quantum leap over standard X-rays. Though he is able to sell most of them, the time lag between the sales and his growing financial demands makes his already bitter and alienated wife, Linda, even more upset, who eventually leaves him and leaves to New York. After Lindainforms of that she is incapable of being a single mother, she agrees that their son, Christopher will stay with his father.
