The movie was mostly well received within the Catholic community but was questioned on its classification as a "horror movie ".
The Rite is an American supernatural thriller movie by Mikael Håfström and written by Michael Petroni. It is based on Matt Baglio's book with the same name. The Rite: The Making of a Modern Exorcist, which itself is actually based on true events as seen and experienced by a exorcist in training, American Father Gary Thomas and his stories in Rome where he was trained and worked daily with veteran clergy of the exorcist practice. A scary movie worth seeng for all horror fans out there, but, there are better ones.
