The Sea Inside (Spanish: Mar adentro) is a 2004 Spanish film written, produced, directed and scored by Alejandro Amenábar. It is based on the real-life story of Ramón Sampedro (played by Javier Bardem). After an accident where he as an active and healthy man dives close to rocks his life suddenly changes totally. He get's paralyzed and has now lost the ability to move and live freely. This creates a huge depression in him though his friends and family tells him to be happy for not duying. After beeng sent home again from hospital he tries as much as he can to do the legal work needed so that he can find escape from his miseries.. Will the goverment listen to him? Is it better to die and escape suffering or is it better to live with suffering? Such moral and philosophical questions must be answered by the goverment. In the mean time the story manages to produce some funny momements.
